Getting Started with Organizations
This guide will help you get started with organizations in TemplateDocs. Learn how to create your first organization and switch between different organizations as you work.
Creating an Organization
When you create an organization, you become the Owner and can invite team members with different roles.
Step-by-Step Creation
- Navigate to your dashboard
- Click the organization switcher button at the bottom of the sidebar
- Under the Organizations section, click + Create
- Enter your organization name and unique URL (don't worry, you can change these later)
- Start inviting team members (see below)
Switching Between Organizations
As you work with multiple organizations, you'll need to switch between them to access different templates and resources. The organization switcher is always available in the sidebar.
How to Switch Organizations
- Look for the organization switcher at the bottom of the left sidebar
- Click on the current organization name to open the switcher
- Under the Organizations section, click Select...
- Select the organization you want to switch to from the list
- The page will update to show content from the selected organization
The organization switcher shows all organizations where you have access. If you don't see an organization you expect, make sure you've been invited and have accepted the invitation.
What Changes When You Switch
When you switch organizations, the following will change:
- Templates: You'll see only the templates belonging to the selected organization
- Team Members: The team members list will show people from the current organization
- Settings: Organization-specific settings and configurations
- API Keys: Any API keys you create will be scoped to the current organization
